Guys I was thinking of posting a monthly challenge for the lower league teams. Unlike the main board ones they won't take quite so long to play out. I also want to take an approach of looking at a number of different leagues they will not always be the very lowest teams in the land or based in England. I will look for interesting clubs and give you a bit of a story behind your mission so to speak.

I hope it may open a few leagues and teams up to players that tend to stick the man utd, newcastles of this world.

The idea of my challenges is to have a bit of fun each month rather than taking a lifetime task to complete. The aim is not so much to beat the challenge but more to tell the story of your attempt.

Would anyone be interesting in me posting these or do you think we have enough in the main boards to do ?

I dunno about challenges. There's usually one LLM challenge per year IIRC, but I don't know if there's plans for it yet. You'd have to ask one of the mods.

Although I'd bet that folks here would definitely like to see it in the lowest league of a country, although I'm sure non-English would be acceptable.

LLM is about long-term games. We like them that way. Based on the way we play, 'monthly' challenges wouldn't really be appropriate.

We always start from the lowest leagues, never higher.

There are no players here that stick to the manures and newkies of the world, don't worry about that.

We don't do stories of our games either (at least not in this particular forum), we do updates.

Read a few threads to get a better idea of what we're about and you'll see that your idea might be a good idea for GQ or the like, but not really appropriate here, as presented.

Challenges are few and far between here, and the ones which are decided upon have long term objectives, not short term goals. Nearly all established LLaMas buy the game and end up playing one or two long term saves, not to embark on little challenges.

There are other fora on the SI boards which may be interested in this, but LLM isn't one of those.

Do whatever you like in the main boards but around here, as stated before, we're not really a fan of "challenges" around here, really. Every LLM game is a challenge. Playing it for a month and then starting over really doesn't follow what we're about.

Those types aren't going to stop playing with Chelski or ManYoo no matter what happens in are forum, anyway.
