Firstly, I’d like to say a big thank you to all the guys on this forum for a light-hearted welcome and acceptance. I haven’t ventured into the other forums (never will); nevertheless I’m 100% sure this forum is the nicest.

Well as you can tell my first adventure into the uncertainty was with Fisher Athletic (Thanks FRANK).
Fisher Athletic 06/07
A very predictable start to the season sees us bottom after 11 games. However, after reevaluating my tactical approach and adhering to the motto” your best form of defense is attack” propels us to 10th by Christmas.
With some refined form in the concluding 5 games and a watertight defense, sees us defy all expectations by clinching the final playoff spot on the penultimate game of the season.
The lads put in a courageous semi final performance against Eastbourne Boro winning both ties respectively 2-0. In spite of the fact that the team dominated the final a deflected goal in the 52nd minute contravened our teams dream ending to the season.

After the heroics of last season and a few additional signings I was confident we could obtain promotion despite the media prediction of 17th. We remained in between the playoff zone the whole season eventually finishing 3rd.
The team was brimming with confidence and we inevitably advanced to the playoff final winning 4-2 on aggregate. A late equaliser from our captain in the final kept our hope alive, then with a few seconds left to play we missed a penalty sending the tie into extra time. After a stalemate the tie was forced into a nerve breaking penalty shootout. Three penalty saves from our man between the sticks …….. attained our place in the CONFERENCE NATIONAL for the first time in 16 years.
Media Prediction: 17th
Conference South: 3rd (won in playoff finals on penalty’s)

After surpassing expectations and gaining promotion, I was confident that I could surpass expectations again and avoid relegation. Although I was in need of some assistance, during the summer Fisher Athletic was like a summer clearance sale, with 11 new additions and 14 sales.
The start to the season was positive as my team picked up 7 points from 10 games, leaving us languishing above the relegation zone. My teams remained there throughout the season. After some amazing performances near the end of the season, earning my team an honorable 15th position.
I know one of the first things I do with any squad is to look for that magical year when I can throw most of them out on their butt's if they're not performing.
