Just out of curiosity, what's the longest you've ever struggled away in the bottom league of any country for without giving up? Have you ever had such a pig difficult team with no prospects that all you've done is avoid relegation for twenty seasons in a row?

I've spent five seasons so far in the Welsh league after taking over newly promoted Grange Quins. I'm currently evaluating my career options after being laughed at by several prospective employers.

I know some have spent considerably longer periods.

I'm not sure the Welsh league counts toward what is being asked but I could be wrong.

Personally, my saves tend to follow a pretty similar pattern. Struggle, mid table, playoffs or near, promotion.

Don't mind Nobby. He cycles too much which has caused his tackle to shrivel up, and he's a bit mad about it. :p


I've not really struggled for endless seasons at the bottom. Similarly to wewak, I've struggled a couple of years and either been promotion contenders or changed job (sometimes not at my choice ). I've had long periods of reaching a second tier and then not being able to make the final leap, though.

Considering they've actually dropped out of the Welsh Premier (in real-life) because they were unable to pay for their players and staff, I think you're doing ok just to keep them solvent for five seasons...

How did they get promoted btw? I thought there was no promotion/relegation from the Welsh Premier (but correct me if I'm wrong).

Until I got relegated from the conference and was sacked. (one season ) Then I went to a new club and tried to do better with them.

Thanks Elrawkum. I'm heading towards insolvency in the game as well. The graph is showing a consistent downhill slope into the red. And I'm only spending half my wage bill!

All I know is that they play in Cardiff, looked ordinary, and managerless so I took the job. LLM heaven.

In FM06 it took me 5 years to get out of the ECS with Hayes Utd. I got out of the conference nthe next season and languished in League two for the rest of the save.

On FM07 it is looking like relegation in my first season with Hyde Utd.
