Oh, but we all obviosly choose what parts of the posts we take dead seriously, don't we Ian?

Anyway, Hogie, would be interesting if the AI actually could build up rivalries over time, though it seems a bit far-fetched TBH..

Well I think the easiest way to implement it would be for managers interaction to create the rivalries. And if the war of words is not maintained then the rivalry would deminish over time.

Funny enough in my Basingstoke Game of FM06 probably my biggest rivalry was with Man City. As we vied with eachother for Leagues and Cups over several seasons. How to code that without making every team you face a rival is another question.

I develop my own rivalries in my games. In 03/04 I played Scunny for 17 seasons during this time Derby () "stole" a couple of good players from me and then we seemed to meet in crucial games all the time, no rivalry in game terms but psychologically for me there was, I always enjoyed wins against them, and was devastated if we lost.

First we have "feeder" clubs, which don't exist in the YooKay, then we have "rival" clubs.

I'm at East Stirlingshire for my first effort, and we have four "rivals", Alloa, Stirling, Stenhousemuir and Falkirk.

Sure, they're in close proximity to Firs Park, but it's several generations since The Shire "rivalled" anyone
I expect your fan base of a handful of octogenarians and balding collie dogs remember the great rivalies!!

I thought I was alone in my personal duels. I too am Basingstoke and have currently got one with Havant, who are, if I'm correct, in quite local procimity. Media mud slinging regularly takes place, I'll keep you updated on whether or not the status of rivals appears.

Aldo wondering about this, as i've started playing with the newly formed (says 2006 formation but all their existinbg players come from FC Smena Minsk, a now non-existant team).

Plenty of Minsk based teams in the top divisions of Belarusian football and most have existing rivalries, but we have none of any type. Would be nice if some kind of extended rivalry was to form over time.

what do you mean feeder clubs dont exist in the uk? of course they do. i live in middlesbrough and have 1 or 2 mates who play for boro who were regularly farmed off to darlington, which middlesbrough has a special relationship with. secondly, my next door neighbour untill about a year and half ago was [PLAYER NAME DELETED], the young lad who plays for burton albian. he used to play for boro and he told me that he was taken from his irish team when he was 15 i think, to go and play for the boro becasue boro used to have an arrangement regarding promising young players with this club.

If these things are formalised, as per FM, then they are in breach of FA rules.

And no player naming in this forum, thank you very mmuch.

Feeder clubs in the UK do not exist as they are illegal. They can have arrangements with clubs outside the UK in that regard.

Otherwise, it's an informal agreement.
