With FM06 you don't get the sack straight away for applying for other jobs, usually. NFI about FM07.
As for moving up the ranks. 2 years is not a huge time to be creating a cv. I would've thought a very good 2 years might see you able to manage at a level above where you are currently. Keep playing, you'll get offers. 2 years is not a long career.
If you don't want to wait, then resign and start looking for jobs.

Has anyone been offered a job with a higher club ? Post #3
In FM06, I was offered jobs at "better" clubs as I slowly nudged Elgin City up through the Scottish ranks. If your reputation is doing well, then just keep it up - I'd think you'll be in demand soon enough.
Applying for jobs sometimes gets you the boot, but not always. Depends how frequently you puruse other posts & how much your club likes you, I'm guessing.

Yeah, I heard that applying for jobs infuriates your board and consequently your fans. Although your reputation, finances etc could resolve the tension between you and your board.

The board at Leigh RMI weren't too happy at me applying for the position at Scarborough, but it was after I'd been relegated, and was therefore on my way out anyway so I thought I'd test it. First try they got annoyed, but nothing came of it. Then I declared interest somewhere else, and the gave me an ultimatum: leave, or we will sack you. So I kept a bit of dignity by resigning... and didn't get another job in that save.

After 10 games with Caernarfon (sp) I was linked with both the Norwich and Crystal Palace jobs. I stated I wouldnt be interested ... seeing as the Welsh premiership was such fun. Now having reached mid season the Southampton job has been offered my way , but im not taking it.
I read that this is a common bug and will be sorted out in the patch. IE - the Kettering manager being offered the England job, etc ,etc silly managment moves

Good for you Matt - as you say, those offers are grossly unrealistic (considering the Welsh Premier is probably of a standard below that of Conference North/South).
Btw, your spelling of Caernarfon is perfect... But can you say it?
