I've always been a keen admirer of Football Manager and the Championship Manager series (whilst it was being produced by SI Games).
I've recently purchased FM 2007 and think it's quality. All the added features are a bonus to the game and makes the whole experience so much more interesting and more challenging to play.
I've not long had FM 2007 and therefore am still in my 1st season of management. I'm currently in control of Bristol Rovers down in lowly League Two.
Things got off to a great start winning 3 of my 1st 6 games, drawing 2 and losing only the 1. Then things started getting worse, I found that the tatic I had created wasn't working too well and I started drawing a lot of games 1-1 or 0-0, snatching the odd 1-0 win here or there but also suffering some heavy defeats. I plummeted down the league table from the top 6 to 16th come December.
Geoff Dunsford, the Chairman (who's a pen*s in real life by the way) then told me that he was in takeover talks. "Great" I thought to myself, that means with a new chairman coming in i'll be out on my ear. However, much to my amazement I'm not!
The new chairman has taken control of the club by clearing the debts and buying the club outright for £2.5m. The unrealistic thing is that the new chairman is a Macedonian Tycoon who has ploughed £25m into the club, £5 was spent buying the club and clearing the debts, so the overall balance is standing at an amazing £18m. He's already commited himself into improving the training and youth facilities even without my asking - "wow" I must be the luckiest manager in football history I thought to myself.
Then things got even better - two days after taking control of the club and without my demanding, he's gone and stumped up £9.5m for new players - £9.5m and i'm League Two how great is that, although VERY unrealistic.
Was just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences to this?
Also, can anyone suggest a worldbeating tatic that I can import into my game now that I have the money to do a bit of shopping? I did import M&M's tatic but this didn't seem to work too well.
Wrong forum, Tony. Have a read of our headers and guidelines to see what we're all about in here. We don't allow tipping or downloading of tactics, for example.
LLM - I thought this just referred to teams in leagues lower than the Premiership/Championship, are my interpretations incorrect?
From Nobby's response it seems as though this forum refers to LLM as being any club outside of the football league - if this is the case then apologies for posting this in the wrong place.
By definition, a Lower League Club must come from the Lowest Division available in any given Nation, as mentioned above.
In England, and any other Nation with "Feeder Leagues", e.g. Portugal or Italy, then the lowest available League is the "Feeder League", in England The Conference N/S, but if the spec of your PC doesn't allow the "Feeder Leagues" to be loaded, then the Lowest available League becomes Division 2.
In Summary:
Conference North and South - Lower League
Conference - Lower League-ish
League 2 - Lower League, but with reservations.
League 1 - Really pushing it.
Championship - You're having a laugh."
