I don't agree. It allows you to exploit weaknesses in the opposition that you just wouldn't have been aware of.
Your scout telling you that they have a quich defence who are also good in the air, but it wouldn't allow you to see that their right back can't jump to save his lfe and their left back has a pace of 2.
It's an awful decision to change this.
| Given the general dilution of stats and how they relate to performances in 07 I don't think it means anything.
Anyhow, fool that I am, I go my scout's report of the opposition. I don't click through their players before a match. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Well then you don't need the Fog of War at all. If you never even click on a player before they are fully scouted, FOW is of no benefit to you whatsoever because it is not hiding information because you would never be in a position to see it.

Exactly Jimbo. A good LLaMa doesn't need FoW. I agree with Michal and Jon.
I have FoW turned on, but to be honest the only time it even makes a difference in my game (FM06 still) is when I go through a scout's list, I can see players he scouted a while ago, because values that change after he scouts seem to fog back up again.

| Maybe I'm not a LLaMa then .

When does FoW affect your game, Jimbo?
I can see where, for a new LLaMa, it's a useful tool in that it reminds you when you haven't scouted players, but the only decisions on other team's players I make based on their attributes is when I'm buying them, and my scouts have done the unfogging there anyway.

| It affects my tactical and selection decisions in the build up to any game.
While ideally I try to play to my teams limited strengths, I am also not adverse to exploiting the weaknesses of the opposition, (if I can find one). I often look at opposition players visible attributes in the build up to a game, (I play quite slowly compared to many), and hope that I can find something that might give me an advantage.
Do they have any players injured who are regular starters. If so what is wrong with their replacement that stopped them from being a regular starter. I partucularly use it for centre-backs/strikers. What are there strengths? Physical confrontation or wide open spaces.
From there I might select a certain style of striker against a quick defence that is of a particular ability in the air. I might do the same with my defence to counterract strengths that I could see in ther strikers. To know all this all of the time makes it unrealistic.
I've checked the LLM rules and guidelines to try and gain some sort of backing on this, (I was sure FOW used to be in there years ago before eve had her breakdown), but it simply isn't there.
I thought that I played the game as a LLaMa, but if this means I don't, then I don't. I don't play the game the way I do so that I can be a LLaMa. I play it the way I do, because that's the way I enjoy it. I thought that was what made me a LLaMa.
Perhaps I was wrong.

Sorry if the above might be considered tactical tipping or whatever. Perhaps it could be blanked out.
Sorry, just a bit frustrated by this .

I agree with you Jimbo. If you want to play the game and use as much of it as possible then you will come accross other team's players attributes.
Try as you might you will notice certain players from this.

| No not wrong at all IMO.
One of the things that has drawn me to these forums is the way that you guys try to play the game in as realistic a way as possible. Is it realistic to know every attribute of a player in your division without scouting them?
Personally I don't think so.
My method of playing is similar to yours I believe Jimbo (tactically I mean) where the team I put out depends quite strongly on where I perceive the oppositions strengths are (oh btw I hope this isn't seen as tipping at all - to anyone who thinks it is I'll just point out I'm crap - if you still want to take it as a tip then more fool you ) So having those stats to hand certainly will affect my game in a negative manner.
Oh btw Church - I did actually think you were being serious, I was just trying to inject some humour and didn't mean to offend you. I'm not certain if I did or not (I figure you're quite thick-skinned or I wouldn't have even entertained the thought of "putting down" such a good cause), but if I did I apologise.

Upon reflection, I don't think that it is me who is not a LLaMa, I think it's some of the more established members in here. Quote:
Play the game as SI programmed it. That is, install the CM Game, apply the latest official SI Patch, Choose a Team and play the game. That means do NOT use editors or third party updates (i.e. Updates on squads, competitions, etc, made up by persons other than SI).
The reason for this is that playing LLM is about playing the game as realistically as possible. This means trusting the data provided by SI is as good as you can get. Third Party Updates are done by persons who may be tempted to give an advantage/disadvantage to favourite/hated Clubs or Players – note MAY. It doesn’t benefit SI to provide faulty data, so steer clear of other updates.
| If some of you want to add new rules and guidelines to the way you play, to improve your enjoyment of your game, then feel free, but don't hijack a whole community just to fit your needs.
If there is a rule that LLaMa's shouldn't view player profiles then put it in the rules and guidelines, but of course you can't. You can't because the guidelines tell you to trust this information.
