I there much point in starting a game before the first patch is released, i ask because i started a game with harrogate and had only got to november, the game crashed suddenly and i lost my saved data.

I would say yes, there is a point. The patch could still be about 2 weeks from release, what would you do until then?! :eek:

Depends how LLM you are.

Start a game now and you have two choices:

1) Start a game and start yet another game when the patch is released.

2) Continue the game you start now because the v7.0.1 patch is savegame compatible.

Your choice.

Mind you, that save game compatibility proved to be a bit dodgy in the past. Like winning too many after installing patch 3 of FM06.
