And this was the original post by Miles that i referred to above -
"Not commenting on how it is going to be in the game, mainly because I don't think it's going to happen - we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
I actually did a lot of research into something similar a few years ago, although it was more of a reality TV show idea. I found from that research that the idea wouldn't be ratified by and of the English football associations (down to level 6 which is as far as my research went), so the idea went away, but it was a similar kind of thing, with multiple people owning a club, and a lot of people getting involved with signings and picking the team.
Whilst the idea of myfootball club is slightly different to what was originally being discussed, I don't personally see how it would work with the way they've described it, knowing what I know from the research a few years ago."
sorry for multiple posts

Are you signed up?
They really haven't made much public about how the thing is actually going to work, and there's been little solid information elsewhere.
Have they told you anything on their members section of the site that we (the public) don't know already.
Amything you can tell us might help wih representing it accurately.
I would imagine the way to go would be to set an interfering and occasionally erratic chairman, until the full workings and impact are apparent.
But if it does look like it's here to stay, then modellin it accurately would be good, and much of the code could be applied in a less extreme extent to clubs like Hearts and Chelsea, and future chairpeople generated by the game.

| Hi Ched
The 2nd thread you linked was mine, good job at least we know what we are talking about
I was quite happy to part with my £35 to take part in this and can't wait until we can help the club reach the football league.

Not to be a total smart-arse, but I said they would not be able to buy a club anywhere from the Conference National upwards, as they had stated in their original brief. If they wanted total control, I said they'd have to go lower.
The fact they've only been able to get a "controlling interest" of 51% in an until-recently semi-pro club rather proves my point.

This is definitely a case of wait and see what happens.
As I see it:
1) People are paying an annual subscription (not a one-off fee) for being able to have a small say in how the club is run on a very broad basis. As I understand it they will need to renew this membership annually in order to retain this ability.
2) People are paying an annual subscription for a company to own a football club. Members cancelling their will gain nothing. I have not seen anything published to the contrary but it looks to me as if, in return for being given a very small say in tactics selection etc, a large number of people have been charitable enough to provide a significant financial investment (a football club) to a company they are not a part of.

SI have made no attempt to model the widely used and relatively well-understood division of responsibilities for signing players and tactics between Director of Football and Manager.
Why would they waste coding time on this bizarre experiment at a single unimportant club?
Prediction: signings, tactics etc will be more or less entirely down to Liam Daish just as before. In some ways I think interference is actually less likely, because it's much harder for an entire fanbase to move to ensure a specific executive decision is taken than it is for a single board member with a lot of clout. An entire fanbase isn't going to be well-organised enough to sign a Shevchenko or motivated to decide an offer is too good to refuse. From I remember before they took it all off the front end of their site they had some pretty broad justifications for enabling the votes of the fanbase to be ignored in the interests of the club anyway.

| i love it when people make things up to support their own argument. At no point has there been "broad justifications for enabling the votes of the fanbase to be ignored", in the event of not everyone agreeing, it has been the constant goal to make the most popular decision the one that will be used.
and the fact that you are suggesting a conference side signs shevchenko pretty much shows how much notice we should take of what you have to say....
