I think you just can't simulate the motivational speech that managers give to their players without an insane amount of time and coding. To sum it up: I think at the current state the team-talks doesn't add really anything to the game (of course it looks nice in the feature list), other than some unwanted confusion.
This was basically what I was proposing in my smallest room musings on the team talk thread.

I have always thought this as a negative thing. I've felt it's like the manager is too angered of whatever to give even a team-talk. I think this was even mentioned in some of the Vaughan's guides. If "none" is like the most neutral thing = no positive and no negative effects, I'll certainly use it all times from now on.

One thing concerns me- is that it always seems that the AI manager makes the best possible decision for his talk when you are winning.

They always seem to come out all guns blazing.

I've done "Ask Assistant" before a match and he's suggested this. This is the simplest way IMO if you're fed up with teamtalks - don't use them!

I've seen somewhat different behaviour. I think there is at least some correlation between the AI manager's motivation capabilites and how well the AI team play after half time.

The worst thing is going in at half-time 1-0 up. The other team gets a bollocking and nearly ALWAYS equalize within the first 15 minutes of the second half.

There doesn't seem to be anything you can say at half time if your team is 1-0 up that will have a positive effect.

Never use "Don't Let Your Performance Drop" unless you are 2 goals up or it will always have an adverse effect.

I try not to rely on team talks for defending a 1-0 lead at HT. I adopt a more defensive stance i.e., move the mentality sliders down 2 or 3 and set counter attack if its not already set.

One other slightly odd thing is that if I give a team talk most of the time the players aren't listening yet if the team talk is "none" the players get ****ed off. So as a manager its better to just stand in the corner of the dressing room and just say "tear down my contemporary wallpaper" over and over again than to say nothing; at least that way the players hear something that they can ignore.

Who am I kidding, "slightly odd". The team talk "feature" is by far the most annoying feature of a game riddle with features whose only role seems to be to **** you off. Like when you criticize a player and he gets ****ed off 'cos you didn't criticize him enough. I have never met anyone IRL who exhibited such bizarre a personality trait.

Whom-ever implemented these features should see a shrink.
