apart from that i do agree they do tend to not work more often than do
Did you even watch this game?

If anything, Man U could have easily lost and were by no means the better team in the second half. If anything it proves that whatever was said at halftime probably had minimal impact on the game. Both sides essentially played just as well after the half. At most the win could be attributed to tactical changes and proper substitutions. Not to the half time talk.

I don't really see team talks having the huge negative affect the OP is talking about. Could I be bold enough to suggest he's not using the correct options under the correcr circumstance?

Yeh Man Utd were ripped to shreds in the 2nd half, and fluked the win with pretty much their only 2 chances of the game, if I was the Bayern coach I would of reloaded.

Team Talks are stupid, but I just can't get past the fact that they are really influential, I once let my assman control team talks and we lost all 7 of the games he was giving them so I took them back and stabilized the team. Maybe my assman was really bad at team talks but no way should it of had that big an effect, or maybe it was just coincidence, but either way I'm never letting any assman do my talks for me again and am thus stuck with the gamble of the team talk system.

I have noticed that whenever I tell my team not to get complacent, the other team always pegs back to a draw, or comes bloody close.

I only ever get a positive response If i tell them im displeased or give them the hairdryer treatment.

I hate being 2 up in the first half now, cos I know that the second half my team will go out and turn into a bunch of fairies having a tea party doing the gay gordons. Diabolical.

1-0 down at half time I told my lads (who were unlucky to be losing) that I wanted to see more of them in the second half, and although my side were still on top, the opposition scored from both of their shots, leaving me on the wrong end of a 3-0 hiding.

well, how on earth should i know what to say on right circumstances,

lets say as my first post example 1-0 im wining game , 9 goal attempts opposition 0 , i say them dont get careless/complacent and in second half i get beaten up so bad.. it makes me wonder how is that possible 0 goal attempts opposition 16 ,

there were whole loads of similar wining 2-0 and such .. encourage is total killer if wining.. you get headshot in second half..

pleased same... get wtfpwned

thrilled that sometimes works 1/3 times you dont get pwned

angry ? i dont think any team irl would like if they manager is angry when team is wining game and dominating match by far.. and on half break they get shouted ..

and there is point when you used every single comment and none of them works. so if you got ideas which comment in which situation i should use.. shoot

I think it should either be ATLEAST twice as many options for team talks or the team talks should be trashed all together. They are usually rubbish and I can rarely say what I would have done in a real life situation in the game. (I've played for 2 decades myself).

Another thing that should be removed is the commenting on penalty situations in matches because we can't really see if t was a penalty or not so how on earth are we supposed to comment on it? Any answer we give will be a wild guess.

I've seen that in the default selection for individual pre match messages for a player that had been rated at 8 or above in his previous game.

But I do agree that the options are too limited. Also, I've seen a lot of instances where the opposition have played like demons in the 2nd half.... But after the match there are two or sometimes three media reports of their players being unhappy with the (AI) manager's team talk in the match...... Surely if the players are unhappy about it then their 2nd half performance should drop, not rise?

What frustrates me about them is that you can't speak to a sub you are bringing on the second half yet you can do it at half time.

United are losing, Fergie brings on Saha or whoever, would he say nothing to the lad or would he give him instructions?

If you bring on a sub use the sliders to influence his play...this has the same effect as the talk would have. It even says sometimes that the sub comes on after receiving some final instructions.
