Default Best hardware for FM

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong forum, I was just wondering if Football Manager takes full advantage of Dual or Quad core processors? Does it give a noticable perfomance advantage?

Also at what point does more RAM stop being useful to the game? Would 8gb of RAM be significantly advantageous over 2gb of RAM? Or just not worth it?

I'm just thinking about putting together a new PC. Thanks for any advice!

I'm not even sure 8GB of RAM is possible, but if it is it would eat crysis, I'm pretty sure 2GB of Ram maxes out Fm08's potential tbh, with 8GB you could run that BioShock Crysis and Assasins Creed no problem.

I know 8gb was a bit out there but with the xp64 maximum at 16gb (I think, or was it 16tb?) then soon 4gb sticks will be available for use and getting 8gb ram won't be difficult.

What about the processors? How do FM processings times under dual/quad core change?

depends if your board can take a 4gb stick you might need a new board when they come on the market

last I knew no current game can even take advantage of the technology, after 4gb your basically keeping money inside your pc doing nothing at all...so in essence...why bother?

8gb kit from cruial is 723.79 but you need a motherboard to cope with that though

Well, quantity is not all with ram. Instead of 8gb it might be faster 4bg of faster lower latency ram.
