I don't see any problems that it could cause other than the obvious extra wage bill which would only really be taken into consideration when managing lower league and even then, in some cases it wouldn't matter at all. e.g. AFC Wimbledon.

thanks for the replies guys, i also tend to have 3 or 4 over the reccomended amount. Was just paranoid that it might have some impact (other than the wagebill) as otherwise the message is fairly meaningless.

My club only recommends that i have one coach. And i can't sign a second under any circumstances. Hopefully that will change now that we actually have money this season.

I feel like you are allowed to have more coaches than are recommended, but it's more of a total wage thing i think (never actually tested it) ie if you have all your coaches on maxed salaries you might only be able to get away with the recommended number.
someone could check this if they want but i've never bothered, i just sign staff until they won't let me sign any more, if not for training at least for scouting knowledge
which brings me to a question. is it bad for me to have really poor staff working with my team even if my overall training level is lots of stars? ie coaching staff just for their scouting knowledge?
just curious if anyone knows.
