ok im 4 years into my game as man utd, wiping up all who go before me, but only because my strikers are rescueing me, neither of my centre mids has scored in over 14 months.

i plsy a 4-4-2 with attacking wingers. ok so one of my mids is defensive so im not expecting him to score , maybe 1 per season would be nice, but my other is an attackin mid and doesnt ever score. ive played the likes of anderson, nasri, elano, even messi there to no success.

any one shed any light on this?

Anyway, you should identify what the midfielders are doing (why they aren't scoring) to remedy the situation. If the filter have long shots 'often,' then you're wasting play. Maybe the attacking filter is not set to the right enough.

There could be a platitude of reasons why they aren't scoring, just watch the match more closely and make a decision from there.

yeah to be honest i have gone through things like this, i have had a look at their settings troughout the year, but it all looks sorted now, elano playing as centre mid just scored a 1 yard screamer to end my barron run

i know why they werent scoring, the other keeper would always pull out wonder saves to stop them every attempt they have.

he had no chance with elanos 1 yard rasping volley

What is your problem? you win, your strikers do what they have to do, they score. In all of my games, my players don't seem to socre even the got a load of chances and they have a high finishing

yeah but it gets annoying with centre mids constantly having 8 or 9 shots even when i tell them to have no long shots, and they still cant score for over a year

So what? i tell none of my players to have long shots, because they miss always. But even from close all my players miss.

It depends on where they are. If they are shooting long they are unlikely to score - because the engine has changed. That said, your MC can occasionally score from a long shot, perhaps due to a defelction.

Anyway, what you need to do is make your MCs go into the box and get good chances like your strikers. I think a diamond formation is best for this. In my game, My AM has scored 7 goals from 17 games. Hope that helps.

I have the opposite my striker is scoring one every 7-8 games on average where as my AMC playing behind him is getting a goal a game but my CM is usually getting 2 but my CB just owns corners lol and every one that gets past the first man he scores but hey I dont mind.

yeah i may try pushing elano to AMC, but then my concern would be how to utilise Ronaldo and messi on my wings, obviously my defence would get more coverage from Sunny/Lucas, but would you all reccomend playing wide centre mids? or tucked up in centre?

Very funny. It is just a bugged game. If my strikers with high finishing have 20 chances and they don't score, it isn't my fault.
If you don't know that, you are the bad manager here.
