Linkage

The link will take you to a call centre story (and it is quite funny actually), but what you want to look at is the game box art images below the story.

About two thirds of the way down you'll come across something I'm sure you're all familiar with. Apparantly the author of the story can 'win everything in 3 hours'. Of course, us seasoned managers knows it takes far longer than that to get a decent setup even halfway completed.

I'm not sure if this was wrote tongue in cheek, but even so, the guy needs to be playing something else..

He says:

[QUOTE]A confession; I’ve played every Football management sim since around 2001. And every single time, I hit the same barrier. I play for 3 hours, win everything, and never play again. And yet there are some folk who have racked up hundreds of gameplay hours on getting their conference division side into the dizzy heights of the premier league - eyes getting teary while watching their little pixelated pegs thump a yellow circle back and forth in the champions league final. I know I’m going to hit multiple nerves here - but please God, if you want to come off as such a boring individual, just play solitaire. I had a friend once who invited me round to his house to play video games - he spent five bloody hours playing championship manager, while I watched and contemplated the chances of death if I was to just straight out hop through his 3rd storey window. And then you’ve got the folk that go beyond the standard definitions of boring, and actually edit their own low-division side - to include players such as Ronaldo, Beckham, Zidane, Given, etc etc. So it essentially becomes the “Pat on the back” game. Spend hours watching your team outplay a couple of Sunday league pixels, and feel ever so proud when you win. If anyone can relay back to me how said practice can be considered “fun”, that’d be great. Cheers. [/QUOTE}

This is guy is just living a some sort of dream world...

I hope for his sake he wrote that in a sarcastic manner or something because if not, then he hasn't played a football management sim, ever.

If he thinks saving and reloading the game to replay the match is how you play the game, then he's really clueless.

And what does it mean to win everything in this game? Win all the cups and leagues with every team? In 3 hours? Right.

I can't believe that he thinks Football Manager is boring when what he seems to enjoy doing is making mock-up video games covers and talking about how boring they are. He could be using that time constructively to take Kettering to those dizzy heights.

You simply can't win everything in 3 hours at Football Manager.

You could probably win the Charity Shield and maybe aLeague Cup, possibly an European Super cup depending on who you choose to play within 3 hours - the game doesn't progress fast enough to even get near the end of a season in 3 hours.

He's almost certainly not being literal though.
