Default The big Football Manager 2008 survey

Seeing as a lot of people on here are posting "polls" on this forum that usually degenerate into nothing but another argument, I thought it might be time to make a real survey. You know, to sort of find out what people around here really think about the game and hopefully get some clarity on the arguments about "the silent majority thinks this is okay about the game" or "most people don't like this, but they just don't post".

If you're interested go over to:
http://www.advancedsurvey.com/

and on the right hand side where it says "take a survey" press in the number:
57985
and that should take you to the survey I've created about the game. It shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes to complete and I really hope the results of this survey can help with the general climate of the discussion in this forum by bringing clarity about the positions taken by the populace on these forums as a whole.

The results will be posted on these forums at the time when enough answers have been recorded to get some sort of resemblance of representability.

Disclaimer:
I'm in no way related to SI Games, this survey was done by me personally and only as an attempt to get some clarity on what people really think about the game on this forum. If SI feels that this is somehow in breach of the rules of the forum you're very welcome to remove the thread.
I attempted to make the questions in such a way that they would not sway any opinions. I work at phone polling institute in real life, so I do have some expertise in this field, but since this was done in a different language mistakes might have been made from my side.

I will take the survey in a few minutes, but of you want a scientific basis, you should set a form of limit BEFORE starting. Either 'answers within a week' or 'first 500 answers', etc..

Good idea but for some of the questions eg how do you rate international management you should really have an option for not tried it.

Good! but you should send the results directly to SI. This way they can find out what the customers think

You're right, but the borders for when something is representable are pretty well defined. I wanted to wait and see how many, if any, responses I would get. Until now already 15 people have responded so it doesn't seem to be a problem. I cannot, with the (free) service I've used here close the survey at a certain number of responses so I guess the breakoff point will be in a weeks time. I will choose friday the 28th at midnight as the closing time.

You're right about that one, my mistake. For the rest of the questions I intentionally left "don't know" out because I want to force people into answering People will often just automatically chose that option when faced with a tough answer even though if they gave it a few seconds more thought they'd answer a more useful option. Unfortunately in the name of integrity I cannot change anything in the survey at the current point.

Well, I'll publish it on these forums, but unfortunately this will never be scientific enough to use for SI. I'm sure they have focus groups in place anyway, so I don't think this will really be new to them. Also, remember that we as a group on the forums aren't representative of the whole mass of Football Manager playing people.
