I don't think it has changed for the new game sadly.
However there are always ways around stuff like that. You could use layering to put a box over the top of the part of the date you don't want to see. Make the box match your background exactly and it'll blend in. It's a bit of a hack but without looking at the code you wouldn't notice
You could even I suppose put the date in a container but limit the size of the container and inset the date right/left until you see what you want. This might work but then again I seem to recall when somethign doesn't fit in a container with FM07 it adds an ellipsis which would stop this working.

Thanks radestock. I just don't think I have the skills to figure out a way to fix it, so I'll try something else.
Btw. radestock, the shadow seems to be cutted after the last letter, is there anyway to add a whitespace afterwards, so the shadow fades out instead of beeing cutted?
See screenshot here: http://img484.imageshack.us/img484/723/30981103hw7.png
Here's the functions I know:
[%date#1-day]
[%date#1-time]
[%date#1-month]
[%date#1-year]
[%date#1-long_no_day]
[%date#1-short]
[%date#1-three_line]
Is it them all, or are there other (might be a question for the guys from SI)?

Not sure about the other date modifiers.
The shadow thing I suspect is down to the container/widget being autosized and the game not taking the shadow into consideration.
I reckon it would solve itself if you used width="x" instead of the autosize="all" or "horizontal". Just set it to autosize="vertical" and width="x" where x is a number that the date fits in.
Seems logical that would work. |

Any ideas how to fix that?

| Any chance for an example Radestock? It would really suit my Simplicity skin if you could work out a working thing for this.
So if you got the time and want to help, I would be very greatful.
