I think the solid black background isn't that good. Maybe keep the gradient, but make the black some other, lighter color. I think the two colors you do the gradient between in, shouldn't have such a big difference in brightness.. if you get what I mean

The sidebar lokos good with the black background though.

The main background really needs some work (maybe a greyscale version of the original grass bg?) but otherwise it looks very good!
