Default Is using a Save-game editor (FMM?) for only editing something minor, SAFE?

I've never used the program called FMM before but I hear that's the save-game editor people use, correct?

There's a bug in the game where Swiss players are for some weird reason considered "Foreigners' and since I'm playing in Spain, I can't have more than 3 and I already have 3 FGN players.

I'm selling my star player for $35M and have the perfect backup for him in mind who is only gonna cost me $9M but he's swiss and I won't be able to register him as that'll take me over the Foreigner limit.

I actually reported this bug before even the first patch was out and they thanked me for reporting and said they'll look at it but I guess it never got fixed.

So now, I'm thinking of adding "German" 2nd nationality or any other EU one to that Swiss player and wanted to know if there's ANY RISK at all in using this program?

I've spent wayyyyyyy too long in my current game to ever want to risk it but if millions have used it and their save games work fine and don't suddenly one day crash, then I suppose there might not be any harm.

But since I've never read the threads or info about FMM before, I don't know anything about it or its history with different users.

So would those who use it or have used it let me know in their opinion whether this could cause any problems for me or it's completely safe?

No risk at all- save all your changes at he closure of each page you are on. The only problems will come if you input clearly unrealistic figures in any of the fileds.

Thank you for the reply Fraz. Always good to see a helpful dude like you around.

So, there is ABSOLUTELY no risk you think if I only add a 2nd nationality to ONE player and continue that game.

I just want to fully make sure because I've invested so many hours into this game that it'd kill off FM 2007 as a whole for me I think if something was to happen to this save game of mine somewhere down the line like crashing or some data becoming corrupted.

So, this save game editor and especially for the minor change I'm gonna make, has no history of causing crashes in the future or anything like that right?

p.s. I DO realize, I'm asking it a bit too many times and you've already confirmed it but as you can clearly see, I'm desparate for FULL confirmation several times just to be sure and bring myself to enduring the risk of using it (which I hope there is none as you said. :p )

First, FMM is no Save Game Editor. It's a ingame editor, live editor.

And there is always a risk in using the editor. I recommend you backing up your game and then use it. But i've never had a problem using it, so go on mate!

There is no risk but to be sure, save your game before you try any editing and store it somewhere safe- do your editing and if it works then OK- if for some reason it doesnt work, ( you will have to run the game on for a day for it to work ) then quit without saving then you alweays have your saved game to go back to and nothing is lost.

Yeah, back up your game, then change his nationality to 'German' or any European country.

Hey guys,

Thank you for the replies.

Yeh, I was always planning to backup a save game or even TWO anyway and put them in a different folder. It's only sensible to do so after all.

My only worry was that, I would edit and everything would work fine for NOW but somewhere like at end of season or a few months into the game, some sorta crash BECAUSE of that would happen.

At that point, yeh I'd still have the old save but since it takes me forever to play even a season (I watch every game on full match), it'd kinda kill all my enjoyment and I don't think I'd have what it takes to go back to the old save and re-do all those matches, etc.

So, my only worry was that something in the LONG-run, not immediately go wrong by this sorta editing. Cuz if it is immediately, I could always go back to the backuped save, that's not a problem.

So like I said, my worry is more like about the 'long-run' than a short immediate crash or something, guys.

But since there has been no more replies here, I'm gonna assume, it IS safe.

I'm now using it for more than just the small addition of a 2nd nationality to that player now though by the way.

There's been a few other mistakes around the game that have been slightly bothering me but I could do nothing about. Well now I can and will gladly do, as long as I know it won't come back to kick me in the @rse sometime later. :o

haha.. PLF, it ALWAYS starts with editing a player's nationality when it comes to FMM.. but then, out of curiosity you start checking your players attribute.. club finace etc etc.. and the Devil gets you right then and there.. "just edit his Finishing, I mean come on, Marcelo Zalayeta is better than a 13 at finishing.. or.. or what? Del Piero's CA just 173? that's no club legend, make it a 194..

I'll assume you've already used FMM by now, but a word of advice, everytime I've used FMM, my game wouldn't upload unless FMM was installed in the pc. So if you delete it, then you might not be able to laod your save game. That's what happened to me anyway. And as long as FMM is installed, the temptation will always be there..

god, I'm so weak..
