download and install the latest patch this will let you select wich databse you want to load the other 7.0.1 patch works as well. make sure you save the database in the db folder and never end the process/programme with task manager that will corrupt the db and it wont save or appear

are the above users using Vista ?
Experiencing the same problem now. Where on startup even after patching it, it starts up with the default 1.0 db.
The Db's are stored in a different location in Windows Vista.
in xp and previous versions its: eg: Cdocuments and settings\etcetc\db

in Vista its: cusers\etc\db

Can that be the problem ?

What I did that solved my problem was going into the users\etc\db\saveddatabasename folder, copying it over to cprogram files\sportsinteractive\footballmanager2007\data\d b\ folder.

Well I have Vista now and it doesn't work but when I first encountered this problem I had XP

It does'nt even work if u try editing the original one because you cant save it without making a new database
