The key in everything lies in doing your own tactics, but that doesn't mean using someone else's tactics won't work. What you need to do is to know how to read the information in the game.
Match Stats against Blackburn clearly showed that we enjoyed near total domination in the game. 59% possession and 82% passing are very high. But I never check those first...what's more important to me is where I win the ball, and to do that I use this
- Action zones. This one shows that I completely dominated them in midfield and in attack.
In this game I royally screwed up..The fulltime
stats clearly show that I dominated the game, yet I couldn't carve out a win?
I refused to heed my inner voice in this game, the
Action Zones indicated that I was hardly a force in front of their goal, I may have enjoyed superior possession but that was in my half and in midfield. I hardly played in their half. All things considered I was lucky to get a point.
In another game, my strategy was simple, beat Chelsea with counterattacking football. That meant I may lose the battle in midfield, but I had to win enough possession in my half, stroke the ball around, let them come at me and I'll bomb a few behind them.
Looking at the action zones from this
game. , it would appear that the only area where I had some advantage was in defense, but looking at my overall stats it would appear that I was just as effective upfront. The final result showed that despite me not swamping chelsea, we were definitely a class above them at the
final whistle..
Match stats do not tell the complete story. To become good at this game, you need to know what to look for especially when you want to try and win every game.
