I am currently in 2025, and as well publicised on here, the regens aren't that great. Especially their mental stats. But also, the goals dry up immensely. Chelsea won the 2024 Premiership having scored 39 goals. I can play all out attack for an entire game, and lose 1-0. So how do you get around it?
What winds me up however is the tactics engine has no consistency to it. I have a team which should be finishing 1st, and I'm langusihing at 18th. It's not a one off, it's happened at about 8 other clubs too. I've used a number of tactics, and often or not, languish. I'm no sucker at the game - I got a team promoted from the Ryman Premier to the Premiership in 7 seasons with no budget. Now for the last 10 seasons, I've not been achieving and drawing blanks. A striker of mine may get 8 goals a season, and after I sell him, he scores 20 with less service than he had in my team.
Thinking my tactics may have been flawed, I started a new game with West Ham, and won the Premiership second season having only signed Bale, Barton and Bent. So it's not a tactical problem.
What's your experiences of long-term management? And bar banging the keyboard, how have you adapted to the tactic engine to achieve success? I'm at a complete loss.
