on my glorious Fiorentina game. 2015/16, won the title two years running in 2012 and 2013, the Champions League in 2013 also, and now my team aren't worth crap.

I typically use a 4-3-3, but reverted to a 4-4-2 after the first couple of seasons, and have tried back and forth in the past two to regain some of the team's title-winning form... I have some of the best players in the world, with absolutely no weaknesses in my line-up. Hell, even my second team could probably beat anybody on their day.

No idea what I'm doing wrong, I've been chopping and changing tactics trying to find the right one, but to put it bluntly the game has just figured them out. I'm not asking for advice and I'm not asking for tactics - because I won't use them if I'm given them anyway. I'm just venting...

Stupid, ****ing, game, which frustrates me to death and which I love above all other games...

This is called the burn-out syndrome.

Happened to me too after 7 seasons at Zaragoza, the team didnt win anything anymore (ended 3-6th in the league though). I was frustrated like you and tested everything within the possibilities of strategy changing and new players, but nothing worked. So i resigned and hired at Deportivo. I used my old set of Tactics (which i used for Zaragoza) and it worked again, winning me the 1st division straight away in the first year.

So i guess that just happens, when u stay at a team too long and they get bored with you :p

Yeah you might be right. I've just become so attached to my Fiorentina team... mainly because most of the players were ones who either came through the academy or who I bought when they were 15-18 and trained up to become superstars.

I'm giving the same answer to every other thread. The game has a crap feedback system - it's biggest flaw. You kinda have to make do.

Sell three-four key players and buy replacements. Will revitalise the line up. The success barrier for me (in all FM games) has been 5-6 seasons with a similar group of players. You need new blood after that.

I'm just like you 3 seasons ago, 2012 I think, however I was still be able to cope with the AI. I have to tweak my tactic every seaons to match the AI.

But I was at my wit end after a match in 2016 that I lost 3 - 0 to my rival even though I have the best multi nations players in the world.

I questions myself just like you, a team with full of stars can't do too bad and I decided it time to create myself a set of tactics so good that I will NEVER HAD TO tweak my tactics again!

I spend A LOT of time researching, and I finally got it. in 2016, I was winning comfortably with score always about 4 - 0 home game and 2 - 0 away game.

In 2017, I go on a troll, I never did tweak my tactics, home game, select home tactic, away game, away tactic. I finish the PREM with 35 wins, 3 draw.

I win everything, play a grand total of about 65 games, win 58, draw 7 (most of the draw due to play youngsters or game that doesn't matter anymore). Average goals: 2.9.

So what I'm saying is: Build yourself a new tactic that suit your team. Until that tactic can beat other team seasons to seasons without tweaking, it is not an ultimate tactic yet and that's where your downfall is. Oh, and ofcourse, have your players consistently at the same level too.

i think fm2008 will have better feedback system. Saw glimpses in creenshots, such as match reports.
