...building a tactic based on heading ability and strength throughout the team?.

The idea would be to have a defensive back four with no f/runs for the full backs and instead utilise the whole of the midfield for attacking purposes.

There is'nt a great choice of wingers with heading ability, but the likes of Gonzalez(Liverpool), Gera and Camoranesi all have good stats in this department.

The two MC's should be instructed to get the ball out to the wings and/or put in balls over the top for the two Target men strikers.

The strikers should be instructed to make forward runs, but not to run with the ball.

Targetman instruction should be ticked and wingers should also be instructed to aim their crosses at the two big men!.

Maybe someone who is comfortable using the editor could put together a squad strong in these abilities to test if this idea could succeed?.

Has someone had a go at this before and if so how did it turn out?.

I was hoping this would give me something to do before the new footie season gets underway and if anyone else is in the same boat, why not help out?.

yes i have. came to the conclusion ages ago that heading is key on fmo7, so tall strong target man flicks ball onto pacey striker, and 2 tall strong cms, who win the ball back quickly, offloading it to wingers who then suupply the targetman. simple and effective. 4-4-2 all the way.

I don't play MCs, but AMC and DM, so that AMC (or the other ST) picks up flicks up front, and DM supports attack and picks up ball if opposition defender wins header. My FBs on rare forward runs but asked to cross ball mixed, and wingers do it often. Passing down both flanks, DM is a playmaker and asked TTB often. Mentality settings are similar to wwfan's counter tactic , global mentality normal, counter attack box ticked, and the only thing I change is width (narrow-to-normal if defending, wide when expect to attack more). It works just fine.
