Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Training after Injury

When a player has just came back from injury (length being months rather than weeks) does he automatically go through a spell of light training or straight into the full training? If he goes straight into the full training is it best to adjust his schedule to a lesser workload?

I have wondered this too myself, but more to the point of if full training will damage him when coming back from injury. I can understand from a real life point of view that say if owen had just started training again, and you expected him to be sprinting at his usual rate straight away, then indeed he may get injured, but is this reflected in FM?

Definately in Seasoned Alcoholic's training, he has a recovery schedule for players returning from injury. However, I wonder about it's effectiveness as I am sure that when you get a news report about a player returning from injury, it says the player has resumed 'light' training. This would suggest he is automatically put into a lighter plan (perhaps almost part time workload) than when at full fitness. This would also be backed up by the lack of any recovery regime as default, as I am sure if the player was put back into heavy workloads straight from injury, then he would break down straight away and therefore SI would have to include a recovery schedule as standard.

Just my thoughts on the matter, but what you think?

Well, players returning from a serious injury indeed start out on light training for a few weeks when their injury indicator turns from red to yellow.
During this time their fitness will be built up slowly. They can be picked to play but that isn't a good idea. When the injury indicator dissapears, I think they are ok for the full training regime, as I haven't seen too many re-occuring injuries.
