Crazy what would you say are the big benefits of this tactic. I used your previous one as you know to great effect. I have recently started a new season with United again because I wanted more active leagues and I was not that far in my previous game.

This team seems very unconvincing with the new tactic. Very narrow wins, and losing leads. Any suggestions, as to how make sure I achieve maximum success. Also, are the set pieces supposed to be used or do you suggest implementing my own?
i've found that the main benefits of it are that it keeps a good amount of clean sheets and i usually attain a good shot/SOT ratio. this is for me though, other people may get different results. </BLOCKQUOTE>

Yes I can see that those benefits are there without playing again. I have actually found myself VERY frustrated as I have been dominating and putting tons of shots on goal, but the goals just are not coming. That leads to what I consider the worst football feeling in the world, you dominate the game and everyone knows that it should be 10-0, but since it is football you lose.

I must admit I have won a couple of games 1-0 lately and that has been pleasing. I am on here though to ask about the set pieces. Are we supposed to use your set pieces, or do you expect us to implement them on our own? You did not answer that in your last post. Thanks.

I am back for more. I want to know what are the changes that have been made to this tactic? Hats off to the fact that you get a lot of clean sheets and that is something that I like. However, I am getting clean sheets too. Meaning, I am not scoring goals. I just lost to Norwich 1-0 in the League Cup with a very strong team out there. Then, I tied City with a strong team 0-0.

There are some good results. I want to stress again that I do enjoy the clean sheets. I am averaging 1.4 goals a game though. I know that the philosophy is not to blow teams out, but right now I am not even pressuring teams. As you know, I am playing with United. I have kept generally the same team. I do have Guardado, Lucas, Bodmer, and Johnson. Other than that though, I am using the same team that United has. Suggestions as to how to make this work or in what way you tweaked the previous one.

Ok the away tactic really isn't working for me in my second season with the tactic...

I have lost to Man U 5-1, Arsenal 4-1, Boro 2-0 and now Newcastle 3-1.

The opposition just seems to dominate play no matter what I tweak and they seem to have a lot more shots than I do...

The home tactic is still working very well, but I am only winning 1-0 or 2-1 and occasionaly drawing 0-0 or 1-1. The tactic really doesn't seem to produce blow outs. Still happy with it, just makes for a nervous last 20 minutes the majority of the time...

well i changed the away tactic now when im playing against counter attacking teams that like to play it around. Now i set the away tactic to defensive, with long balls, quick tempo, wide and closing down often.
They can't string a move together and I'm dominant. Just beat Ipswich 4-0 away in the cup amongst others

When reading through Cleon's thread, he seems to have had good success by playing quick and direct against possession minded teams, so it seems to continue to work here too

perhaps make the away tactic quicker and more direct may help, as well as more defensive by lowering some mentalities and lowering the d-line. hopefully it will soak up their pressure and your quick counter attacking will create some good chances.

well i haven't changed much, if anything, with the home tactic. all i've really done was to make the 2 away tactics as the last away tactic wasn't too successful.

as for set-pieces, i kept them how i had them. you can change the attacking set-pieces to the routine where there's a guy at the near post who scores a lot, and i've also been working on a different defensive setup, but didn't put them in the tactic as i didn't have a lot of time testing them.

Thank you for the info. I will change the set pieces to something that I feel is more efficient. When you make reference to the person scoring a lot from the near post is that generally the idea of having a near post flick on with the cor being aimed to the near post? I have read that people have a lot of success that way and I have found a decent amount of success that way too.

Reading that you have not changed a lot on the home tactics makes me think that my problem might be the training. I had thought that for a while. I will have to see how things go. Unfortunately, I will probably not be able to play for a while, but after I make a few changes I will how the results change and keep you posted. Honestly though, all the clean sheets have been quite impressive. I do not remember doing this with my other games.

For those of you having trouble downloading it because of FM Downloads being unavailable, I've uploaded it to YSI for you to grab it. Hope it helps.
