Hi guys, I chose Tamworth as I saw them as a hard task, its been easier than I thought though, am not bragging here just want to ask how this has happened.
Started with a balance of about 75k, the club was worth £200k and I had a budget of £5k
My wage budget was 7k and I was 2k under that.
I shipped out high earners and brought in experience. Spotted a very promising young player - so he was promoted straight away!
I then used all the money I brought in (about 30k) and purchased a 39 year old keeper, a 37 year old defender. From QPR and Brighton respectively.
Then the rest was used on good young players. Pompey loaned me an attacking winger.
I applied for a daddy club and was offered Villa, took it and loaned 4 players off them.
they will give me 40k p/a
Now its 2007 and I have;
Lost 2 league games.
Drawn 5
Won the rest
I am sitting pretty at the top.
I drew with Blackburn in the FA cup and now have them at home (yes!!)
My finances, somehow have improved.
£1m in the bank
900k profit (thought that should be more?)
Is this
a) Because of the big names on loan
b) because I play good football
c) The big games in the cup I have played
d) A mixture of the above?
By any means, I am enjoying the game a lot. My wage budget has almost doubled and I am finding clubs will bid more for players I sell now.
I have also discovered that NOT ROTATING is the best way to gain and keep momentum.
So anyway guys, some suggestions on whats happened with my clubs fortunes.
