Ok so it's not really lower league management but has anyone else tried managing in iceland.

I managed FH in the premier and got them into the champions league proper a couple of times, not bad considering they're all part timers with a max attendance of 5,000.

Has anyone else managed in iceland or other small european leagues and how did you get on?

i went there on holiday a few times. its fecking expensive. works out at about £6 a pint.

I played 3 seasons for a team in the 2nd div on FM2005. It was impossible to do anything. Never had a single person that signed for me and only had a handful of people I could offer contracts to in 3 seasons. My club reputation must have been lowest of the low. Finished below halftable every season, and the debts just kept mounting. It was the most torturous LLaMaing I've ever done (and yes, I have tried Belarus)

Tell me about it! My wife is Icelandic so travel there to visit the in-laws quite often. No wonder I'm skint!! And noone over there follows Icelnadic football apart from the international matches - they all watch live Premiership football instead. The quality over there is abysmal!

Lovely country though, and great people (have to say that as wife is looking over my shoulder as I type....

In FM06 I started my career with HJK in Finland.
Bought some Brazilians and qualified for the Champions League, which earned me a spot on the Manchester City bench afterwards.

So: smaller leagues with fewer clubs, are great to make it to the champions league (by accident
