But with that said, I don't disagree. It was just out curiousity, as I wrote in the post.

I checked the Landsbankadeildin (icelandic PL) and I couldn't find a single South-American.

My favourite story of Iceland was from the days when immigrants to Iceland, who took out Icelandic citizenship, had to choose an approved family name from a government list. The Russian composer and dissident Vladimir Ashkenazy had been allowed special dispensation to keep his family name and thus an immigrant from one African country applied for the family name Ashkenazy. He was turned down.
