I have played this game since CM2, and always enjoyed playing with the lower league clubs, but not quite as strictly as you guys here (which is the reason I generally don't post in your forum!).
Anyway, with this latest version, I'm finding it more difficult than normal to start from the bottom. In my current game I'm 3 matches away from finishing rock-bottom of the Conference South in just my second season. I haven't done this badly since CM4 first came out.
In FM05, and FM06 I've managed to take Margate to League 1 and league 2 respectively and while those careers had thier lows, none came anywhere near to how much of a low I'm in at the moment.
Is it just me, or do even the full-on LLMers find this more difficult?
I'm not looking for tips here, merely confirmation that's it's bloomin hard, or a reality check because it's not that hard.
I haven't played FM07 yet, but people on the forums have been consistently saying that the game is more difficult now on all levels. Some seem to think that it's down to default tactics not being as effective as they were previously, while others cite the propensity for opponents to come back in games.
So I'm not surprised that you're finding this more difficult. As always, however, you just need to experiment and try to find out which areas need more attention to adjust to the changes.
I only got the game last weekend, so I haven't even played half a season. But so far it doesn't seem to be a lot harder than the previous versions. The main difference I notice (and I've already seen a lot of others complaining about this) is the abnormal number of injuries and red cards (although regarding the red cards, they've been shown mainly to my opponents, which might explain why I'm having some success so far )
