Hi, I'm new to lower league management. I have been playing CM/FM for years and the lowest i ever went was Plymouth in 98/99.
I have decided on FM 2007 to have a real challenge. I have took over at Forest Green Rovers - rated as one of the worst teams in the conference and tipped for relegation. 6 games in and i haven't conceded a goal yet!!! ...................... but i've only scored 2!!!!!!! Five 0-0 draws and a 2-0 win against nine men (Oxford had 2 players sent off)
Is it just much harder to score in the conference? or are my strikers just crap?
I went to watch a game at Forest Green once (at the old stadium called The Lawn)against Burton Albion. I was stood next to this old bloke who was a Burton fan - Forest Green were awarded a penalty and this old bloke, who was supporting Burton, punched me on the arm! He was spitting feathers!
So much so that a certain ex England winger of QPR and Sheff Wed fame and assistant manager at Burton at the time came over to make sure this old bloke was not going to invade the pitch as he was verbally abusing the linesman. Needless to say the air was full of heavy industrial language!
In the same game, my mate was cr@pped on by a bird as well.
In relation to your question, sorry to digress, I suggest you get some new strikers and better players behind them!
I have to say, despite some thinking that I am a troublemaker on these forums, that half the fun of the LLM game is finding these little gems for yourself rather than from some else's gameplay or cultivating your own youth players who may seem rubbish at the start by can grow in good players.

I fail to see how you being (or not being) a trouble maker has anything to do with the feeling of accomplishment of finding players on your own, without assistance from anyone but your scouts in the game.
Why would you need to take a leap of faith on a player with masked attributes? Wouldn't your scout have revealed them (ignore that if FM07 this occurs, I don't have it...yet)
And Mr Figo; why, after being registered for 18 months, have you all of a sudden started posting so rampantly here? Just curious, nothing sinister.
