I was wondering if the old Scout Where You Can Tour rule is a bit redundant now given that the scouts have realistic restrictions placed on them.
Also, do people find that the restrictions are how they should be. ie. in line with the SWYCT ethos?
Did SI take note of SWYCT when implenenting the new scouting rules?

It's pretty much redundant now the game limits where you can scout, for FM2007 anyway.
SI see all, btw |

Do you agree with the scouting rules as they are on FM2007. They seem a fair bit more restrictive to me. ie, my Scout at St Albans only being able to scout England, and not Wales and Scotland too for example. I prefer it this way, but was wondering what others thought

It doesn't make too much difference in practical terms, I still only get a few very weak players to choose from, only now they are all English.
Also, only being able to employ 1 scout is not really a restriction if their is only 1 country I can scout.

I found in Scotland I could only scout Scotland then the UK after a season, but the other teams were filled with every nationality under the sun.
We learn to live with AI team bias, though.

Did you get promoted in that first season, or have a good performance?
Because I could understand the board allowing you to send scouts further afield if you were making progress with the club, and also if the clubs reputation was growing.

The only minor thing I can foresee and I think it's been raised before. If you are in the far north of England, for example, you can scout all of England, but not Scotland.

Good point wewak, I believe thez could fix this, by having scouts only being able to scout within a certain distance of the club, rather than within a certain country or countries
