My first llm team was Inverness Caledonian Thistle in CM2, I think it was the first season they were in the game. I started going to their games and am a season ticket holder now. Although I cannot manage them in Fm (never been offered/good enough ) I still go to all the home matches and some of the away games. Plus I try to go to my local Highland League teams games.

I've always been Spurs, but I started playing as Barnet when they were fist added to the game. I now watch Barnet far more than Spurs.

Having played in 99/00 I remember it as a common experience, but in my long term game on 00/01 I think it's only happened three times. Torquay being the first over 190 seasons into the game (and they'd been promoted before). I soon followed it up by winning the title after half a dozen seasons with Wroxham and then defending it to no avail. Torquay took the title the follwing year, but were then promoted.

Ok, replying to title of this thread, here is a bit of obsession. I managed Hitchin for 23 seasons on CM4, and on my recent trip to UK (I'm from New Zealand) I made a point of visiting their ground. I dont know why, it was just a piece of dirt with some wooden benches and a couple posts at each end, but something compelled me.
It could have been worse, I was with Telford in CM3, but I think they went bust for financial reasons and were removed from later versions. (Worse because Telford is further from Heathrow)

Telford have a very nice ground, FB. The New Buck's Head was the venue for the very first LLaMa meet, Telford beat Leigh RMI, fat goalie and all, 3-1.

I played them in CM3 for many seasons (of which my wife considers time I'll never get back) but in CM4 I couldn't find them. Not living in England I dot get the all the bombardment of football information from the tabloids etc, but thought I found some info on the net that they went bankrupt?? (actually, I must confess that I didn't know where Telford was when I selected them, but thought New Bucks Head was a cool name for a ground. I originally selected them solely on this basis)

Sort of, though it doesn't come from an FM game.
I randomly chose to play as MVV Maastricht on another management game (PS2) and started looking out for their results and reading up on their (admittedly bleak) history after i took them to Champions League success.
This lead to me them being my only team on FM06 (my first PC management game) and in seven seasons i took them from struggling Eerstedivisie team to multiple Eredivise and Dutch Cup winners, finishing off with the Champions League

Well the way things are going if you ask the quessie for FM09 I'll be able to answer that my LLaMa team and the team I support are one and the same
But yes I do tend to keep an eye out and read up on any teams I manage, and even about the area they are from, especially if they're overseas (more so in CM01/02 - Castel Nuevo in Italy was a favourite save of mine serie C to serie A, tiny team but beautiful part of the world)
Even sad enough to admit to normally finding a good stadium pic and using it as a wallpaper!
God it sounds like obsessive behaviour - although it seems I'm in good company!!
