It's nasty, TC. When you turn pro it will help. The problem then is for some reason the 18yo the scout identifies now wants £1k per week instead of £250

I've spent years trying to get established in Europe from Sweden. I'm a regular top 3 finisher and doing well in the Royal League but have yet to win a CL or Uefa cup match

I've also noticed that as soon as you turn pro every player wants four times the wages they would have asked for before. Even players who are already on full-time contracts at your club want massive pay rises on their next contracts.

ahhh, got a real easy solution to all ya problems..

Turn back the clock, dust off ya CM01/02 and go back to the last classic Football Manager game. The interface is easier, no more blobs runnng around on a green background, and once again you can imagine the action, instead of throwing cherry coke cans at the screen when you see the game doing things that are obviously a progaming error.

Actually did that last night. Haven't played CM/FM in nearly 18 months, and ya know what, CM01/02 still has it. Booted up all the leagues in the foreground (bless you grunty computer), and it was umm, just before 2.00am when I ended up clicking "exit".

Don't know if I will keep it up, but as a trip down memory lane it was an enjoyable experience.

It may be a touch of nostalgia blurring the memory, but with 01/02 I seem to remember always being in control of the team...even when we were getting our arses whipped

I've been playing CM01/02 in the Japanese league of late. It's still great.

I'm fourth in the table and I'm at home to the first-placed club. The match is frantic, end-to-end stuff with chances being created with every attack. We win the game 2-0 with 15 shots, 11 of which were on target. Opponent has 12 shots, 8 on target.

Commentary response at 90 minutes?

"A poor game but ******* will take this"

It was an absolute classic match
