There is plenty of information within the game DJ to tell you what each training slider does for each player. I set up schedules depending on the players position and set the sliders to train them in the areas that they need training in, and not where they don't.
Seems to work well for me with most players having green arrows where they need them, they are only red if they are injured. I do only have a very small squad though so I think keeping the players match fit does help.

The biggest factor is coaching. Crap coaches or insufficient coaching in certain areas will get you predictable results. I've never seen players fail to do really well in training and maintain their progress when they have high quality coaches training them.
Maybe developing the right training schedule could compensate for crap coaches, but I don't know.

Would being able to hand responsibility for training over to your assman be a useful feature do you think? I generally start out full of hope and end up reverting to the default schedule in desperation.

I have a few questions:
How many schedules are you currently using 6
How specific are these schedules dependent upon say position All but 1 are specific to position, but 1 schedule covers to sort of positions, more areas.
Are you aware of the CA and PA capabilities and their relationship to training. I think so. I'm aware that there is an upper limit for improvement within a set period of time. Is that what you mean?
Have you created training schedules in earlier versions of the game, EG Season 03/04
| Yeah. I suppose I sarted editing schedules with CM4ish but definitely with CM03/04 and FM05 & FM06.
Was there a point to these questions or was it something between the lines that passed me by?

The problem is, however, is that the higher the overall intensity, the higher the risk the player will be lost to injury. Once an injury strikes, a player's attribute improvement will usually be lost almost immediately, with plenty of sharp red arrows to reflect the lack of training.
I've always gone by the bigger picture regarding training. Its not simply the case of your players turning up most days in the week to train before matchdays; their training performances can be linked to a number of extrinsic (uncontrollable) and intrinsic (controllable) factors. EG, morale, current form, age, approach to training (extrinsic); intensity of training, type of training, coaching staff attributes (intrinsic) etc.

After reading the first couple of lines of the last post, I think it's a little too helpful.
Thanks , but no thanks Alky :thdn:.
If I wanted that much help I would be looking for it elsewhere.
