Season 2007/08 Media Prediction 19th Money Non Existant Attitude Dishevelled
What was a particularly boring season was somewhat livened a fun cup run, seeing plucky Newport County defeat Shrewsbury, Crewe, QPR, culminating in a brilliant money spinning away day at Manchester United.
In the league we finished 18th, scraping surival on the final day, at the expense of arseholes Weymouth (get in!). It was good to see that the squad could compete at this level, but the lack of consistency was annoying.
Season 2008/09 Media Prediction 23rd Money On A Used Car Dealer Level Attitude Confused
Our bizarre ability to destroy the top times by large margins yet suffer self capitulation against clearly weaker opposition continued into this season. At one point we looked as though we might be able to sneak a play-off place, but with the club still yet to turn professional the ability to attract decent players of a promotion level is frustratingly poor. We improved, which is a definite positive, no doubts about that, but the team can do it, they just need to find the confidence and the self belief to carry it through.
