Well I've just finished my first three seasons on FM07, so following up this intro are updates for these.
This is of course YF Juventus, playing in the Swiss Challenge League, and predicted to struggle early on.
The YF stands for Young Fellows (an apt description for the side too). I don't actually know much about the club, but they play in Zurich and have only recently risen to this level. There was a YF Zurich side who competed at the top level of Swiss football during the sixties and seventies, disappearing from view around 1980 (I can't find then at RSSSF after this date). Given the date my side were founded (1992) and the location, I'm presuming some link.
They share some similarities with their namesakes. Playing second division football and team colours. Unlike them, the side is poor, and they don't appear to have been involved in a match fixing scandal.
Expected to struggle, but after a slow start, picked up a few wins and stayed a few points above the drop zone at all times. Locarno and Concordia going down. Neuchatel ran away with the division.
Exited the Swiss Cup in the 1st round to a lower division side. Three up at half time, they came back scoring five. One player in particular stood out, signed him later on after identified by a scout.
A couple of other signings from the lower divisions, a striker and a Haitian winger.
A slow start, but thanks to a spree of goals from my new striker moved up the division. Never in title contention, but no worries at the other end (Bulle finished last with 9pts). Reached the winter break in 5th after moving up from 10th on the final game before the break. Faded afterwards, mainly through an injury to my top scorer. Two heavy defeats to finish the season.
Made the quarter finals of the Swiss Cup, before going out to Super League side FC Zurich with little fight. Lausanne managed to lose to their own U19 side. Young Boys and Sion contested the final for the third year running.
Chiasso took the title after a close battle with Schaffhausen, who then lost out in a playoff.
A couple of new signings, and a record sale (£22k) in the transfer market.
My hand forced slightly by injuries earlier on, but this season turned into a case of everyone chipping in (but a fixed defence). A two horse race with Schaffhausen, swapping places throughout. The middle of the table was very congested, and the bottom two (Tuggen and Witherthur) comfortably adrift. Beat Schaffhausen late on, got hammered by Vaduz, then picked up to beat Luzern in the next game to clinch the title. No playoff promotion again.
Knocked out of the Swiss Cup in the second round to Super League side St Gallen.
Took a loan signing from Grasshopper, who was supberb at the heart of my defence. Want to sign him permanently, but he isn't keen on the step down.

Since when did Juventus become a LL team.......What's that........Oh, I see.....errrrmmmmm harruummpphh...............KUTGW
There was even a Juventus in the league I play in myself, but they relegated last season , so they are currently in level 7 (out of 8) in Belgium.
Juventus Schoonaarde, that is...
Actually, that's a bit of a shame, our team, SKL Doorslaar, in level 6, isn't in the game,
when another team nearby, who play in level 7 are, with some friens of mine, who are FM players, while I could have been too...
Now they know it, they ran straight to the shop, to get FM
