I alway try to do what Brian Clough did, promote a team from the second tier of the league and try to win the league with them. It is more challanging and I guess one of the most challanging thing is attracting players. So, pick a team with a good reputation, preferably a team that has some history make sure they have a good stadium and a good fanbase and your challange will be to make big. Oh, another example is Villarreal. Not that long ago there were playing non league football. So be the next Clough. Good Luck. I

the best team on fm without exception is napoli. 1st season all you have to do is survive. you get maybe 10m to sign players, but you don't need any. next season (on my last game) i finished 12th and got 30m, third season finished 7th and got 30m then got 4th and had 42m to spend. you can sign anyone within reason, you get 51k average crowds and 61-2k for big games and euro matches. recapture that diego armando spirit is what i say. forza napoli!!
