As I said in a previous post, I've been playing this series since 1993.
I reckon there are some bugs, namely "too few penalties awarded", "Maldini's unknown morale", "stadium expansion", and some minor others.
I agree some parts of the game are poorly implemented (media interaction, board satisfaction).

I do not agree that it's harder for the human player to score or that the AI "shots a screamer from 40 meters and wins the game".

To prove that I simply run the number of my second season. Bear with me if it's a long post, but it's for seasoned players :-)

I've just finished my second season (yeah, I play slowly) with AC Milan. Beta patch 2. No edits, no cheating.

My starters (second season) are:
Dida; Oddo, Nesta, Maldini, Kaladze; Pirlo; Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf; Kaka; Drogba.

In this season I have won Serie A, Champions League (on penalties), Supercup and lost in the Italian cup finals.

Played 59, Won 31, Drawn 22, Lost 6.

Goals: For 95, Against 47.

Here's the thing, I have tracked the number of shots on goals (mine and opposition) and run a correlation with the final result.

First:
I scored 95 goals with 804 shots (12%)
AI scored 47 goals with 499 shots (9%)
therefore I score on average more per shot than the AI.

Second:
Of the 6 games I lost, only 1 saw the opposition shooting less than me.
That means that out of 59 games, I lost only once when the opposition has less shots than me.

Also, I won 3 times when I had less shots than the oppostion.

Bottom line: if you have more shots, you end up winning, and it's all up to the tactics!!!

would barça have won the champs without ronaldinho 2 years ago????? dont think so. would manU have won the league without CR amazing season??? dont think so. would milan have won champs without kaka amazing season in champs??? dont think so. in FM2008 its all about tactics. i've played a couple of seasons and i never saw any GK making an amazing game, neither have saw anyone making a 10 and hardly making a 9. it's impossible for any player to have the influence they have in real life... at least i never saw it...

Well, this "conspiracy" is highly dubious, in my opinion.

However, your post doesn't really "prove" that point, unfortunately.

Good thing about your analysis is that the sample size is quite large (# of games).

Unfortunately, for a meaningful analysis, tactics, player quality, teamtalks, etc. have to be controlled for. And this is near impossible in FM.

So while i do agree on no conspiracy, i don't think your numbers prove it.

To further elaborate, what would come close to "disproving" A.I. conspiracy is for a large number of users to provide data.

Having various human managers' data would cancel out variations in team talks and tactics.

Player quality is another thing, however, as most human-managed teams tend to have superior quality players.

Again, i do agree with your conclusion re A.I. conspiracy.

I'm not screaming conspiracy either, but here are my stats after 10 Prem games with Arsenal using the updated Beta Patch.

Arsenal = 195 shots, 104 on target, 8 goals.
Against = 52 shots 25 on target, 9 goals.

So the average match stats see's me as Arsenal having 20 shots with 10 on target and averaging less than a goal a game, whilst the opposition average 5 shots with 2.5 on target and have almost a goal a game average.

I'm hoping this is due to problems with Bugs rather than any AI advantage worked into the game, so i refuse to call foul until the Official Patch has been released, but if it continues like this after the patch?, then my FM days are numbered.

In 7 out of those 10 games, the opposition GK has received the MOM, which is also a big concern, maybe its a problem with too many GK's enjoying the big occasion?, which would be a fixable Bug.

yup, i won the league for 08/09 with 4 draws/2 loss only. My tactic hasnt been cracked yet.

Similar to the OP, I did a survey in FM 06 or 07 and came up with the same sort of % altho it was over a much largere survey.

A run of 10+ matches where I was on target more then 10 times each match, I won all the time except for 2 matches. First and Second leg of the Champions League First Knockout Round. I absolutely dominated proceedings against Real Madrid, was on target like 10, 14 times but never scored over both legs. In the first leg they was on target twice and scored, 1-0. In the second leg, they were on target once and scored, 1-0.

The overall percentage may show the nothing, but its stuff like this that make players think the AI is condemning them to defeat.
