i agree with some of ur points but inter trying to buy vidic for 8mill isnt unrealistic to me...
these type of offers happen in real life but its just not talked about too much in the press.
in august newcastle tried to buy ronaldinho for 20million ,which was obviously rejected,in which they ended up enquiring about him,in which they were told it would cost 60 million and ronaldinho in indenspensable

Casillas is more indispensable to Madrid than Ramos. The one that should be seen as unmovable is Raul. How many years has he been with Madrid?
Also I would not put Cristiano Ronaldo as indispensable since without Ferguson I wonder if he would really be at Man Utd? It was only a few years ago that some teams was turning his head. I think every player should be available as I'm sure you have also bid for other clubs "indispensable" players.

To be honest I don't rate Vidic any higher than you, but it was more to do with his squad status. If an important first team player at a top club was getting offers then it would take much more in real life than his value of 8m. I doubt he would be sold in real life for 1m more than what Man U paid for him.

My hope is that the AI will see how highly he is rated by the user and have to make a substantial offer. That is kind of my aim for the thread, in that SI will allow the AI to identify how much we rate a player through our assigning of squad status and asking prices. I get pretty annoyed when I get enquiries for my players when I have already ststed my asking price in the transfer screen. It would be nice if the AI identified that and then decided to make an offer. Or even to get a message from another team saying that they were interested in a player but thought my asking price was too high and would I be able to negotiate. now that would be nice

Ronaldo is indispensible to the team in his managers eyes. Whether or not he wants to stay is irrelevant in my opinion when setting squad status.

As for Casillas being more important the Ramos, well to be honest I don't follow spanish football that closely. I was really just looking for similar types of defenders to Vidic in high tiered teams. Although I don't beleive I actually said Ramos was Indispensible (Will reread after posting this)

As for every player ebing avaiable well that simply isn't the case. There is no way Ferguson would let Ronaldo or Rooney go, unless they wanted to leave. Or Kaka at Milan. Or Roanldinho or Messi at Barce. The only was these players will leave is if the player forces through a transfer. The clubs value these players, at the moment, far too highly to consider selling them.

good post.

i also find it EXTREMLY annoying when computer teams keep make same **** offer for your best player.

i even find it way more annoying when lower rep clubs in england like middlesborough or west ham can unsettle first team italian born players in italian middle teams (samp,lazio,palermo..)

and all these freaking enqueires. if a player is hot prospect and devolping in youth team and i rejected or not ansered them before they shouldt countinue stalking them. flaggs keep hands off should work.

congratulations on the second most pointless piece of genralisation ever.

every player is different ffs. it's not the dream of every single person who played the game to play for madrid or barca.

Good post bearsy, and I do agree with you on the reputation issue. But we're quite limited here by the amount of 'indispensable' players you get in your squad after a few years. When managing a top team, you need to offer far too many players the 'key player' status when offering him a new contract, otherwise they won't sign. Right now, in 3rd season, I've got like 6-7 'indispensable' players in my team, which is far too many.

The board shouldn't allow this. I think there should be a limit to the number of 'key' and 'important first team' players you can have in your squad. But then, the game should take this into account when we have to renegotiate a contract with our players to prevent them from becoming unhappy.

The transfer system is crazy sometimes. I offer Jefferson Farfan from PSV a contract (im Tottenham) But for some reason he wants to join a club called "AZ" He is a big talent but he dont want to play for a better club?
