I need help cutting out peoples hair...mainly for people who have longer hair with parts sticking out everywhere like the following below:




Everytime I cutout somewho has hair like that it always ends ups blocky looking and just wrecks what i'm working on.

I want them look like these (SoccerArt WP's):


All tips and help would be great..Thanks

first of all cut out the hair as best you can using the polygonal lasso tool
then zoom in some more and use the eraser for an even better cut
at the moment it will look a little sharp, you can smudge the ends to blend it in a touch
and then using a lower opacity eraser, rub the ends to blend it even more.

thx i'll try that i never use the polygonal lasso tool i always just use the pen to cut out the best i can

use the pen tool. it will solve any problems. i have written a tutorial. if anyone wants it, then i'll post it.
