Okay, so I've only just got and installed FM07 and I'm waiting for the new patch before I begin a game, but I thought I'd load something up and explore whats new in the game since FM05 (my last version).

Now I run it on a widescreen laptop so as with FM05 I've put it on windowed mode - no probs doing that. Sorted the default skin change to a RH version - also no probs.

The only problem I have seen is when looking a player profile there are scroll-bars available for the Technical and Mental skill sets because there are 1/2 that cannot be seen. However, when I went to move the scroll-bars down to see the obscured stats they don't move.

1. Is this a known issue.

2. What skins can be recommended that do not suffer this problem in windowed mode for a user with a 1280x800 resolution.

3. Are there any other recommended ways to fix this problem I'm having.

Obviously 1, 2 & 3 require question marks put at the end but you get it anyway.

I'd call this a know 'issue', although it's not particularly an issue as such.

The game being designed to run at a minimum of 1024x768 means anything less that that is going to give problems. I'd say that taking into account the size of the windows start menu/taskbar and also the top bar of the FM window, you are left with less than 768 vertical pixels for the game itself.

I suspect you are using the -windowed -small_screen modifiers. Basically it's a case of living with it or as you say finding a skin with a smaller font size etc. Try maximising the window to use the maximum space (even if it looks maximised already).

You could alter the text size of the flexion skin but then it might make things unreadable. Open flexion.xml (normally in CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007\data\skins\flexion) with notepad and then alter some of the values for text sizes in there (under TEXT PROPERTIES).

Your other option id to run in fullscreen mode using some other command line switches so things don't look stretched. Take a look here and alter the numbers to fit your resolution.

I broached this subject a few weeks ago obviously but since the patch only got released in the last 48 hours I haven't dealt with it.

Can I assume that, after looking at the SI Base that if I put these details in the shortcut target properties rather than the "small screen- windowed" order I should get a true full screen mode for my laptops 1280x800 resolution?

"DSports Interactive\Football Manager 2007\fm.exe" -fullscreen_height=800 -fullscreen_width=1280

I've got some stuff to do so rather than test it and have it mess up an answer either way would be appreciated.

Yes that should display in the game in full screen mode and have it take up all of your screen.

Though you may need to replace the - with --

An easy way to test it is to create a new shortcut and add the extra commands to that shortcut then if it goes wrong just delete the shortcut and use the orignal shortcut.
