Have you tried CarbonFlex?
It is awesome, proper full match screen buttons like Aurora06 and a nice clean look. Change the standard background pic to something darker and u have a great looking & playing skin there.

i agree with tonidopa that they're not as good as aurora was but aurora was 1 dam good skin and it would take something special to beat that.

I'd agree with the OP actually. The quality just hasn't been there, nothing with a 'wow' factor at all.
I think the lack of experienced skinners on the scene at the moment is the problem. The likes of TeediuS, Sam J, Andersson, myself (in all modesty) haven't been around for a while. Busy, moved on, whatever.
You've basically got less experienced novice skinners (not knocking them) releasing stuff at the minute rather than established skinners building on their skills. Those with some skill seem to be more interested is playing it safe (see boring) too.
Exceptions that prove the rule:
Weeelo - Black Aura was something I really liked and Simplicity looks to be better still. I'm going to keep championing this guy.
Ricey - Goal was hit and miss but I do like Inverno a lot. He's starting to prove himself after the whole Turnstyle thing (which for me was a very much down to it's Aurora base).
I'm sure things will pick up though. All it takes is one killer skin to spark creativity across the scene.

Aurora WAS the all time best. It's a shame to not see it every time I play the game... It's probably the only reason why I still play FM06 from time to time...

hi everybody as we're on the topic of les skins miserables i hope somebody can help me here. i need to a recommendation for a skin that can allow me to:
1) be viewed properly in the windowed 1024 x 768 resolution mode.
the problem i have is that i need a skin with smallish fonts. the one i use now is lightning skin but when i goto a player's profile the scroll bar doesn't work so i can't see all of the stats. my workaround is to autohide my taskbar so the game takes the whole screen while playin in windowed mode.
of course everyone will say "play the game full screen then!" but i am a bit of a muli-tasker so can someone recommend a skin that will meet the requirements? thanks much.

You can still multitask playing in full screen by hitting alt-Tab
