Having a bit of trouble getting the best out of Dean Ashton.
Play him as a Target Man in either a 4-4-2 or a 4-4-3 but despite his reasonable stats the ball rarely sticks with him and he gets very few flick-on's which is annoying with Cassano and Tevez my other forwards.
I have him doiwn as either "ball to head" or "ball to mixed" and have him on "hold up ball".
Would I be better by unticking "hold up ball"? would this allow him more flick-ons?
In a 4-4-2 I also have my other striker on "hold up ball". Could this be detrimental having two forwards with this ticked especially if one is a creative, pacy forward?
Many thanks in advance.
PS. Would it not be a bad idea in the next FM to have a "flick on" button for the target man?

There is a slight flaw to your 4-4-3 tactic! Either you ain't using a GK or ur cheating with 12 players
I'm afraid Ashton's aerial prowess is somewhat underated in FM07?.
Ashton in RL makes for an awesome target man and also has the ability to skin defenders, yet in the game his stats leave him just a little short in both areas, rendering him practically useless as a striker.
With training i've had his finishing at 18 and his composure at 17, but he usually needs 5 or 6 one on one's before he tucks one away and even with a penalty taking stat of 18, i still find he misses more penaltys than he scores?.
It's odd because in my first game he scored about 20 goals each season for the first 4 years and was rated at 17 M. Not sure why in games since he has been,,,well,,,crap!
