Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

This may or may not be helpful since I've only begun experimenting with different training regimens, but I've had success with players with good adaptability and playing them (all on the general training schedule).

I've heard good things about some of the other training regimens on here, though, and I'm using some of them now.

re-training players will always be sucessful, its just a matter of how long it takes depending on the players versatility. its a good thing to train them while theyre young as they will be adapted to it by the time they come up to the first team

The time it takes to retrain a player to "accomplished", which is the best new positional ability you can get, depends on the player's age and versatality. The latter is a hidden attribute, but you can get an idea by looking at where a player originally can play. The more the merrier. So, young, versatile players can be retrained quickly, and will remember their new positions. Old, non-versatile players will need several years of retraining to reach accomplished.

Here’s a question. If I want to retrain say a young LWB to LM, or a RB to RWB, should I just select their new position to train as in the menu, or should I also put them on a new equivalent training schedule? Would this speed up the retraining process, and wouldn’t it also depend on the type of schedules that you are using anyway?
