If you need help with targetman... heres the breakdown of good targetman:
Eddie Johnson - $2 million - My favorite TM. Cheap, strong, young, and never fails me. View down later for more proof.
Luca Toni - ~$20 million - An experinced worldcup winner. A great TM, a little more expensive and debatebly only a little better statistic wise.
Nikola Zigic - ~$12 million - A younger, extremely tall, great targetman. Won't sign with most teams in the first season (Arsenal, Westham, Tottenham I have tried) but good later on.
The Tactics
The Home Tactic:
A very strong base tactic that can also be used against weaker away teams. Offensive without risking much in the back.
The Away Tactic:
A good counterattack tactic which works well with teams like Arsenal who have pacey players to mastermind that counterattack goal.
In both tactics your TM should play in Eddie Johnsons spot, the middle of the pitch, to the right of the other striker. Be sure he is placed in the Targetman list. Even when you put it in their the first time, the game doesn't remember it... so be sure to put it in there, go to something else, and go back to check and make sure its permanent.
The tactics also include Crazy's 4-2-2-2 "Kill Game" tactic, which is a great tactic made by crazy gra to employ when opponents take a 4-2-4 approach when you are leading around the end of the game. Usually as the clock hits 80 minutes and your opponents are down, they will put their men in a 4-2-4 and the Kill Game tactic is the best counter-tactic I have seen for it.
Some Proof
Along with proof from my other thread, which includes: Arsenal 1st in EPL with 95 points; Valencia 1st in SFD with 90 points; Portsmouth 4th with 79 points (7 off title winners).
I used Tottenham, an above average team who is expected to finish 5th in the league behind Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Hello deadlydevices, i am going to try your tactics in my Villarreal game, but i would like to hear your opinion about the TM spot. My current strikers are Forlan, Nihat and Tomasson. Do you think any of them would be suitable?
Mosa: King plays as both a DC and DM, i believe he is natural in one and accomplished in the other, I forget which. In the home tactic I find it more sutiable to use a player that can play both a DC and a DM position, someone like King or Vanden Borre (great player by the way). For the away tactics I lean towards a more DM minded player, but since Tottenham doesn't have a star DM i just used King.
BenDawson: I use faeron's "Structured_Training Schedules.tsh", however any of the training packs found in here are good packs. Try them and see which ones you like =]
well iv just been on terrible form so i tried out the tactic with my villa team. hadnt been scoring at all recently, and then i beat tottenham 4-3...lol
mayb the defence needs tightening up slightly but o well.
