I'm using Reading currently ...
When Lita injured n out for opening season ... i have the same problem .. (the most one goal in a match)...
but then after Lita match fit , i have no problem on my attack anymore .. at least i can get 2 goal in a match ...
Note : i have Kitson , Higuian , Doyle , Long as my striker
I'm having exactly the same problem. I'm Newcastle in the 3rd season. Currently have Eddie Johnson and Jo as my strike partnership and I've made sure I only set my players with a high long range shot rating to shoot "often". Just played Reading, who had a man sent off after 20 minutes.....I then proceeded to pepper their goal with 27 shots and only managed 8 on target and the score ended 0-0. Infuriating as hell!! How can I prevent this from happening???
1st season 4 4 2 is fine will do ok with it.
2nd season its not good enough. I wasnt scoring enough goals so decided to play 3 up front. Instead of having 2 strikers just playing now have 3 around the box to bang them in.
Also the strikers you have mentioned are average at best. Play Jo or eddie johns, hugain or doyle and next to them play a total goalscorer like zarate or bojan who will bang them in all day.
Anyway....I read somewhere that you really need more "quality" shots. One of the ways to do this is to use the attacking/defending slider. If you push the slider down more toward defender, you will get less shots overall, but it will increase the number of shots on target, therefore increasing the chances of goals scored.
Another thing I play with also is the tempo of the game. I try to play a slow game as well to try to keep the ball and have the players work the ball around to find a good shot.
Also, browse through these forums. i have picked up many a great tips.
