It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Q for Cross Aim & Cross from

So anyone know the Advantage or Disadvantages for cross aim to near post , far posr , center ?
same as cross from deep n byline ...

i think it is important to set one , but how to make sure set for the right one ??
e.g If my taller stiker play at the right side ... so i will ask my AMR to cross near post ?

tbh i dont set any, just leave it to the player to make the decision. i also prefer to have variation rather than one specific target

i have heard that crossing to far post can lead to lots of tap ins?

From watching AI in 442 Long Farrow I am pretty convinced that is how they set it up. I tried replicating it with the following set up:-

Both full backs cross from deep, aim far post.
Both wingers run with ball often, cross often, cross from deep, aim far post.
Both strikers on high closing down.
Team width set to wide.

It seems to take advantage of how the defence always plays very narrow regardless of settings.

I scored a decent amount of goals whereby the cross would be met by the winger on the opposite side and either score, or one of the strikers on high closing down would knock in a rebound.

This worked well for me, but as with any tactical advice I can't guarantee it will for you. It works best with wingers on long farrows forward runs often and attacking mentality, to a lesser extent with wingers on short farrows with forward runs often.

With an AMR and AML with both cross from byline to far post and forward runs often they both got a lot of goals because they were crossing the ball in and setting each other up.

I like to cross to best header/targetman. Crossing to far post also makes sense when the opposite winger has good jumping and heading.

I set my wingers to cross from deep when they are not capable playing on-on-one against the full back,as they would not be able to get room at the byline. This setting also works when you have smaller and faster. It allows them to get a header before the defender gets in position.

Cross from byline is preferable when your wingers are good one-on-one (Robben, C Ronaldo) and your strikers are slow and big (jan Koller, Crouch).
