It´s said that mentality affects the type of pass that the players do: with a defensive mentality, players seem to make back passes or side passes, while with an attacking mentality, players try to pass the ball forward and start attacking moves. That´s ok. The thing that I´ve been wondering is: what happen if I set a player to "direct passing" and couple this with a defensive mentality? Because direct passing means (at least for me): pass the ball forward. Is it conflictive? Should a player with defensive mentality be coupled with direct or long passing? For me, a player with direct passing should, at least, be coupled with "normal" mentality. Am I wrong?
