I'm in season one with RKC in the Dutch first division (FM 2008) and have romped to promotion with something to spare.

Yet my highly regarded young goalkeeper Jose Manuel Alamo rates just 6.55 despite having kept 23 clean sheets from 29 games and committed just one goal-related error all season. This is preposterous and I demand answers!

Check his passing success %, if it's low then the rating is justified, try set the GK passing to quick throw or defender collect, even though a lot of times he just ignores our instructions anyway...

I tend to find that often when your dominating games and your goalkeeper is having very little to do that they will often finish the match with a 6 rating.

So maybe its not something to worry about more just a result of him having so little to do.

Wolfsong is right here. It is the passing % that seems to cause this. Set the GK passing as he suggests but also set the creative freedom to very low otherwise he won't do as you tell him. Do this and you'll see an improvement. For some reason the distribution from GKs is terrible in this version. But as I mentioned in a previous thread, goalkeepers were always scoring highly in FM2007 because of the passing % so they've addressed this in FM2008 - but a little too much in my opinion.

Another reason could be because your keepers not had much to do...hence a low rating.
